Los Angeles mother jailed for killing children allegedly believed they were possessed by demons – New York Daily News

A Los Angeles mother behind bars allegedly for three children believed they were possessed and had been attempting to stomp the demons out of their bodies when she killed them.

Angela Flores is facing three counts of murder in connection with the deaths of her three children, 12-year-old Natalie Flores, 10-year-old Kevin Yanez and 8-year-old Nathan Yanez. She has reportedly confessed to carrying out the killings with the help of her 16-year-old son, who was also arrested in wake of the deadly violence.

According to police sources cited by KABC, the 38-year-old mother told investigators she repeatedly jumped on her children because she thought it would help drive out the negative spirits.

Officers with the Los Angeles Police Department discovered the kids dead inside their San Fernando Valley home on Sunday morning, while others geared up to celebrate Mother’s Day with their families.

The night prior, neighbors claimed they saw Flores holding a Bible and lighting candles in a yard near the home, prompting them to phone authorities about the odd behavior, according to the Los Angeles Times.

She was taken to an area hospital just before 1:00 am on Sunday and the bodies of her children were discovered just hours later, according to LAPD Deputy Chief Alan Hamilton.

While the children appeared to suffer trauma, their causes of death are still unknown and their autopsies are underway.

Flores was initially slated to be arraigned Wednesday, but it was continued until Aug. 10. She’s being held at the Van Nuys Jail on $6 million bail.
